Before the lights, camera and action, Bernice Wooden came from humble beginnings. She was born and raised in the Red Hook Houses in South Brooklyn, New York. During 2006 she earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Mass Communications with a Minor in Theater from Lehman College. She later earned an M.F.A. Degree in Television Production from Brooklyn College in 2013.

Since 2007 Bernice Wooden has been producing video content for fortune 500 corporations such as Proctor & Gamble, Visa, MTV Network, The Publicity Office, Panasonic and GfK.  As a result, she’s no stranger to big budget projects that also get big results. Such as when she garnered more than 1 million views for the Visa Goals YouTube campaign in 2009. In 2015, she was summoned to produce segments for the official announcement of Hillary Clinton’s Candidacy.

Ms. Wooden has been recognized for several other projects, but that comes as no surprise to those who know her. That’s because she injects her heart and soul into every effort, and it shows by the level of artistic quality she produces.

In fact, she’s been so successful that she has received the Spring 2013 Don Buchwald & Associates Grant, the Best Editor Award from Women Make Movies in 2013, and a Producer Award from the American Diabetes Association.

Ms. Wooden recognizes that much of her inspiration and motivation are from strong women in the television and film industry who preceded her. She says, “I am inspired by women like Debbie Allen and Phylicia Rashād who create dynamic pieces of art through Film, TV and Theatre. They not only produce positive programming for the African American audience, they are some of the most highly skilled and influential women in the industry.”

She goes on to explain how dedicated she is to making the visual dreams of her viewers come true. She wants to produce television and film that will last a lifetime and be passed down from generation to generation. As an added bonus, she recently picked up the photography bug and she’s currently working on her first self-help book. Her current Summer 2016 producing line up includes: producing corporate videos and freelance work.

New ventures include her new business Be Nice Productions LLC. and teaching Networking/Empowerment workshops around New York City.
